Business Verge Awards returns to celebrate Africa’s innovators, business leaders

After a successful maiden edition earlier this year, The Business Verge Awards is set to return for its 2nd E-Edition, celebrating Africa’s trailblazers in business and technology.

Billed for the first week of December 2025, the event will bring together founders, innovators, business leaders and changemakers from across the continent.

The Business & Tech Excellence Awards recognises individuals and organisations driving growth, innovation and transformation across Africa’s economic and technological landscape.

From visionary founders and creative start-ups to impactful enterprises and women redefining leadership, this year’s awards promise to spotlight Africa’s brightest minds shaping the future of business and tech.

The maiden edition, which held in January 2025, honoured exceptional players across multiple sectors, setting a new standard for recognising African excellence.

This time, the stage is set for an even more dynamic celebration as the awards continue to amplify stories of resilience, creativity and leadership across the continent.

According to the organising committee, the 2025 edition will feature 10 major categories, including the African Start-up Business of the Year; Enterprise Award; Rising Founder of the Year; and Excellence in Fintech Award.

The others are the Female Founder of the Year, Social Impact and Sustainability Award, Business Leader of the Year, Community Impact Award, Creative Business of the Year, and People’s Choice Award.

Meanwhile, nominations are currently open to entrepreneurs, founders, business leaders, and innovators who have been operating for at least one year and have an active social media presence.

Ahead of the event, the organising team has emphasised that this year’s edition will not only celebrate excellence but also serve as a platform to inspire collaboration and spotlight emerging opportunities in Africa’s business and tech ecosystem.
