ADC 2026 Convention: A Power Gathering That Could Shape Nigeria’s 2027 Elections

Today, the capital city is all about the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the party hosts its 2026 National Convention at the Rainbow Event Centre, beautifully decked out in vibrant colors.

And the guest list? It’s nothing short of impressive. From Atiku Abubakar to Rotimi Amaechi, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the venue is packed with some of the biggest names in Nigerian seasoned veterans and influential power players alike.

There’s a strong buzz around the idea of a “third force,” with conversations everywhere pointing to a possible new political direction ahead of 2027.

Beyond the big names, thousands of delegates and grassroots mobilizers

have also turned up in large numbers, all united by a shared goal—charting a fresh path forward.

The atmosphere is electric, and the message from the convention is loud and clear: inclusivity, unity, and renewal.

As the party prepares to elect its new leadership today, one thing is certain—the race to the next general election just became even more competitive.

Kudos to Lauretta Onochie—this is truly something to witness. And to the Deputy Secretary of New Media, great job on the coverage.
