Popular Nigerian social media commentator and actor Xxssive, who is also the ex-boyfriend of actress Nkechi Blessing, has sparked online discussions after showering praises on Davido following his viral appearance on Carter Efe’s record-breaking livestream.
In a reaction video that has since gained traction online, Xxssive—who openly described himself as a Wizkid fan—acknowledged Davido as Africa’s biggest artiste, citing his influence, accessibility, and consistent support for people around him.
According to Xxssive, the most striking moment from the livestream was Davido’s readiness to personally make calls in support of Carter Efe, a gesture he described as truly commendable.
“I’m a Wizkid fan, but Davido remains the biggest artiste in Africa. He even had to call Martell for Carter Efe,” Xxssive said.
He explained that Davido’s actions showed leadership and genuine support, noting that not many superstars would go that far for a comedian during a livestream.
Xxssive went on to draw a comparison with how Wizkid might have approached the situation, suggesting that there would likely have been little or no external calls if the roles were reversed.
“If it were Wizkid in that studio with Carter Efe, he wouldn’t have called anyone — not even DJ Tunez,” he added.
The commentator also referenced Shank, bluntly noting that artistes expecting such gestures from Wizkid could end up disappointed.
He stated, “Anyone who hasn’t made it in life shouldn’t stan Wizkid FC.”
Xxssive’s comments quickly ignited heated debates across social media. Davido’s fans applauded the singer for his generosity, accessibility, and culture of mentorship, while Wizkid’s supporters countered that his calm, reserved nature should not be mistaken for a lack of support or influence.
