I saw this new thing today called Chad Brainrot IDE and honestly I thought it was a joke at first. But it is real. YC even backed it. That alone made me stop and look again.
The idea is very simple. When developers wait for AI to generate code, they get bored and start touching their phone. So this IDE gives you all the things you normally run to. TikTok. Tinder. Games. Small silly stuff. Everything inside the IDE. And when the AI is done, it pulls you back to your work.
I know it sounds crazy. That was my first thought too. But the more you think about it, the more it makes sense. People already do these things. They just leave their work to do it.
Some people are calling it stupid. Some are calling it genius. Some say it is only for fun. Some say it solves a real problem because waiting kills focus.
Right now it is in closed beta. Only invite.
For me, I just like how it shows where the world is going. Work and play are mixing more every day. And AI changes how long we sit doing nothing. So tools will change too.
What do you think?
Would you use something like this or does it feel too crazy for you?
