What God Told Me About The Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi — Primate Ayodele Reveals

In a recent video shared on Friday, November 28, 2025, Primate Elijah Ayodele condemned the actions of Sheikh Ahmad Gumi and expressed worry over the growing implications of his public statements. Ayodele did not hold back as he declared that Gumi is disgracing the Islamic religion through his speeches and interventions that appear to elevate the activities of terrorists. He stressed that such conduct violates the true principles of Islam and misrepresents the faith before Nigerians.

Ayodele explained that Islam is a religion built on peace, discipline, and accountability, yet Gumi’s continuous engagement and commentary on terrorist groups create an image that contradicts these core values. According to him, Gumi’s statements make the terrorists seem more important than the Nigerian state, and this alone, he said, is a clear embarrassment to the Islamic religion. He warned that such behavior is dangerous and must not be ignored by authorities.

He further added that by repeatedly speaking in defense of those connected to violent crimes, Gumi is indirectly encouraging wrong perceptions about the Muslim community. Ayodele stated clearly that he is disgracing the Islamic religion, and that no cleric should present himself in a way that undermines the integrity of the faith or encourages national insecurity.

Ayodele urged the Nigerian government to take his warnings seriously, insisting that Gumi’s activities require questioning and investigation. He noted that if the government fails to act now, the consequences could worsen, both for national security and for the reputation of Islam in the eyes of the public.

He concluded by calling on respected Islamic leaders to rise and correct the narrative, stressing that true Islamic teachings reject violence, protect human dignity, and strongly oppose actions capable of bringing shame to the religion.
