Early Life
DJ AB, born Haruna Abdullahi on December 30, 1993, is a Nigerian singer, rapper, disc jockey, producer, and songwriter from Kaduna State. He grew up in a polygamous family with 17 siblings, 10 brothers, and 7 sisters. DJ AB's father, Mr. Abdullahi, is a retired civil servant who was born on June 30, 1957. His mother is one of his father's multiple wives, and DJ AB is her first child.
Education
DJ AB attended Federal Government College in Kaduna for his secondary education and later studied Quantity Surveying at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree.
Career
DJ AB's music career began in 2011 with the Yaran North Side (YNS) group, where they released several songs. He gained prominence in 2015 after releasing hit songs like "Su Baba ne," "Yar Boko," "Babarsa," "Her Love," and "Soyayya." DJ AB has collaborated with top Nigerian artists, including MI Abaga, Yemi Alade, Selebobo, Zlatan, and others. In 2021, he released his smash hit single "Supa" and was signed by Empawa Africa, a talent incubator program run by Mr. Eazi.
