The respected actress and industry professional has pledged her commitment to fostering togetherness among members, improving their welfare, and positioning Nigerian actors for greater recognition on the global stage.

Her swearing-in ceremony, which took place recently in Abuja, was attended by key stakeholders in the Nigerian film industry. During the event, Tambou expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in her and outlined her vision for the role. She emphasized the importance of collaboration, mutual respect, and collective growth, noting that the strength of the guild lies in the unity of its members.

Joy Tambou stated that her agenda aligns fully with the leadership vision of the AGN President, Abubakar Yakub Sanusi. According to her, the current administration is focused on building a stronger, more inclusive guild where every actor, regardless of status or location, feels supported and represented. She highlighted that protocol is not merely about formality but about creating systems that encourage order, respect, and meaningful engagement within and outside the guild.

Speaking passionately during her address, Tambou reaffirmed her dedication to promoting unity across all chapters of the Actors Guild of Nigeria. She stressed the need for stronger collaboration among actors nationwide, adding that teamwork and shared purpose are essential for the industry’s progress. She also underscored the importance of professionalism, stating that Nigerian actors must continue to uphold high standards to compete favorably on the international scene.

“In alignment with the vision of our president, my core intention is to promote unity within the Actors Guild of Nigeria, strengthen collaboration among actors nationwide, and support initiatives that elevate the welfare, professionalism, and global relevance of Nigerian actors,” she said.

Tambou further assured members that her office would prioritize their wellbeing, advocating for policies and initiatives that improve working conditions and provide opportunities for growth. She noted that actors often face challenges that go beyond the screen and emphasized the need for a supportive guild that listens to and addresses these concerns.

“I am committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure that every actor feels seen, valued, and empowered to thrive within the guild,” she added. “This administration represents vision over division, service over status, and impact over noise.”

Her appointment has been met with optimism from many within the industry, who see her as a unifying force capable of bridging gaps and strengthening relationships. With her experience, passion, and clear sense of purpose, Joy Tambou’s tenure as Chief Protocol Officer is expected to contribute significantly to the growth, cohesion, and global visibility of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
