
Rotary Clubs of Onitsha and Nnewi in Anambra State have donated two grinding machines and two sewing machines to four local artisans to support their livelihood and promote economic self-reliance.
President of RC Nnewi, Prof. Evaristus Afiadigwe said the gesture was in line with the Rotary International theme for the 2025 Rotary year “Unite for Good”
He said, “The joint Community and Economic Development/Friendship Exchange Fellowship is aimed at empowering artisans and strengthening inter-club relationships.
“The first phase of the project took place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, when members of the Rotary Club of Onitsha visited the Rotary Club of Nnewi at Gmart Stores, Nnewi.”
President of RC Onitsha, Joy Mbadugha emphasized the value of collaboration and partnerships in service.
“Through this partnership, both clubs have demonstrated the true essence of Rotary, uniting for good and serving as a Beacon of Hope,” she added.
The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt joy and appreciation to Rotarians for the gesture, promising to make good use of the equipment to better their livelihood.
Among dignitaries at the event were Vera Ejefobiri, Assistant Governor RC Nnewi; and Project Chairs of both clubs, Kingsley Ndukwu and Ogochukwu Igbokwe and other Rotarians.
