Etche Council Chairman Receives Odagwa and Umuechem Community Leaders





The Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Chief. Hon. Chima Boniface Njoku, on Wednesday, received in audience the leadership of Odagwa Community who paid him a courtesy visit at the Council Secretariat, Okehi.


The delegation, led by Chief Loveday Okere , said their visit was to congratulate the chairman on his leadership and to strengthen the relationship between the council and the community.


Chief Okere also presented some of the community’s pressing needs, including the restoration of electricity supply, rehabilitation of roads, and the revival of farmlands and water sources affected by a recent oil spillage in the area.

Responding, Hon. Njoku assured the people of Odagwa of his administration’s readiness to reconnect the community to the National Grid and to continue supporting infrastructural development across Etche.

In a related development, the chairman also received the leadership of Umuechem Community, led by its Ochimba, Eze Sampson Emu.

They informed the council chairman of preparations for the 35th Umuechem Day Anniversary scheduled for November 1st, 2025.


Hon. Njoku commended the community for maintaining peace and unity and assured that his administration would look into their concerns while supporting the successful hosting of the Umuechem Day.
